About My Family

Hi, my name is Alin. Like most kids who grew up in Canada during the '90s, the extent of my knowledge of God was gleaned from Ned Flanders and my grandma’s painting of the Last Supper. I grew up in a non-religious house and had no interest in anything “churchy.” My teen years were spent in backyards where my friends and I would hit each other over the head with chairs and other foreign objects, imitating our heroes, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and the Rock. After high school I was trained as a professional wrestler and wrestled until I was about 21.
Shortly after that God began to reveal the truth of Jesus Christ to me in many wonderful ways. I was saved January 20, 2008, and began serving Christ. I had a lot of baggage and sin to deal with from my whole life of rebellion. But in His grace God has been sanctifying me and taking me from glory to glory.
I got the call into pastoral ministry in the summer of 2009 and shortly after, on March 18, 2010, got married to my wife, Shelly. We currently have no kids. I have a diploma in theology/pastoral ministry (honors) from Vanguard College in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. God has called me to the ministry of church planting and gospel preaching. I have a real heart for Christ-centered preaching and genuine church multiplication through the making of disciples and the planting of local, organic churches.

About My Church Plant

GIVE LIFE: Know Christ and make Him known! Life-Giver Church is a church in the city of Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Windsor is enduring a gospel famine that is manifesting in an alarming church closure rate. Islamic centers and mosques are popping up everywhere, even in former church buildings. We believe God is changing the dynamic of the church in this city and positioning us uniquely to capitalize on opportunities that the churches on life support are missing. We are about sacrificial kingdom growth and reaching the lost.
Our vision was born out of 1 Corinthians 15:45, which states, “Thus it is written, ‘The first man Adam became a living being’; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit.” Jesus Christ is the last Adam, the resurrected Life-Giver who came to abolish sin and death. And so our vision is to breathe life into our world by multiplying disciples who are filled with His life-giving Spirit and committed to loving God and our neighbors. In short, our vision is to GIVE LIFE.
GIVE LIFE in Word: We envision God raising up an army of soldiers who will be bold agents of life in our culture of death. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God for salvation and hence is our primary weapon for destroying the works of death in our world. A gospel-less vision is a powerless vision. We understand that what the world really needs is a true, enduring hope, and that is only found in the gospel of Jesus Christ. In Christ we have the ultimate remedy for death and a solid hope for eternal life. Because He lives, so will we.
GIVE LIFE in Deed: We are also committed to giving life by practical expressions of love and compassion to our neighbors. We envision a movement of life-giving disciples who love their neighbors as themselves. Talking the talk without walking the walk is as useless as telling a homeless man to stay warm and walking away when you have an extra blanket right in your hand. Faith without works is dead, and so we seek to show our faith by our works in keeping with Scripture. Our vision is not unique or new, but is the same vision God has been gradually fulfilling since the fall of man, to restore life the way it was intended to be lived—limitless and eternal!

NAMB Church Planting

Demonstrated Christian character is essential for missionaries and chaplains to gain credibility and build community. A missionary is a person who, in response to God's call and gifting, leaves his or her comfort zone and crosses cultural, geographic or other barriers to proclaim the gospel and live out a Christian witness in obedience to the Great Commission. The North American Mission Board supports missionaries serving across the United States, Canada and their territories. Churches are the missionary incubators and sending centers for missionaries through the Southern Baptist Convention. Missionaries serve in a variety of settings and face tremendous challenges. But the rewards are tremendous and life-changing. Missionaries have the privilege to represent their church and their Father in sharing the gospel as the primary focus of their activity. If you are interested in pursuing next steps as a potential missionary or chaplain from your church, explore the possibilities at namb.net/send-me.

Pray

For biblically qualified elders and deacons to be sent to us AND raised from within our own ranks. For strength, freshness and power for our pastor Alin and his wife as he leads, teaches and organizes. For resources, wisdom and foot soldiers to implement our city-wide evangelistic strategy. For God to lead us to good soil and receptive hearts that will blossom into salvations.

Participate

We welcome competent preachers to come and expound the Bible for us. We welcome teams of enthusiastic believers to participate in street evangelism and public gospel proclamation. We need financial assistance in order to fund our evangelistic efforts. (tracts, drop cards, pamphlets, educational resources for seekers, etc.) We need financial assistance to get our weekly Sunday morning services off the ground. We need financial help to supplement our lead pastor with a livable salary so he can focus all his energy on the ministry of prayer and the Word.
Many missionaries build a team to join their ministry in prayer, participation, and provision. These friends, family and churches support missionaries beyond the tithes and offerings given within the church plant.
