About My Family
We live in Minneapolis, Minn. My wife, Teresa, and I have eight children: Rachel, Cadi, Matthew, Elizabeth, Jacob, Emma, Caleb and Jaya. We have been married for more than 25 years. I currently teach Latin part time at Hope Academy, an inner-city Christian school in Minneapolis, and serve as an elder at Jubilee Community Church. Also, I have served in pastoral roles for more than 15 years.
Teresa is a stay-at-home mom and homeschools our younger children. We moved to Minneapolis more than five years ago and have grown to love the urban context; we especially love the ethnic diversity in Minneapolis.
God continues to draw our hearts toward racial reconciliation, and we long to be used by God to glorify His name as the church on earth reflects the realities of heaven where people of all nations worship Jesus together.

About My Church Plant
In 2011, God began to give me a desire to move from our suburban/rural context in Minnesota to the city of Minneapolis, a place filled with ethnic diversity. He was showing me the beauty of Revelation 7 where people of every ethnicity are worshiping around the throne of God. As a result, I am praying that God's will is done on earth as it is in heaven, so we are currently forming a core group to plant a church in north Minneapolis.
Our anticipated launch date is September of 2019. We long to build a multiethnic, gospel-centered community that makes disciples of the nations. We are asking God to make us a gospel community that lives in north Minneapolis, that goes hard after racial reconciliation and that seeks to empower the community to use its resources to grow stronger. May Jesus be glorified in north Minneapolis!

NAMB Church Planting
Demonstrated Christian character is essential for missionaries and chaplains to gain credibility and build community. A missionary is a person who, in response to God’s call and gifting, leaves his or her comfort zone and crosses cultural, geographic or other barriers to proclaim the gospel and live out a Christian witness in obedience to the Great Commission. The North American Mission Board supports missionaries serving across the United States, Canada and their territories. Churches are the missionary incubators and sending centers for missionaries through the Southern Baptist Convention. Missionaries serve in a variety of settings and face tremendous challenges. But the rewards are tremendous and life-changing. Missionaries have the privilege to represent their church and their Father in sharing the gospel as the primary focus of their activity.
