About My Family

Lori and I have three kids: Silas, Cady and Charis. Lori was no stranger to church planting, as her father planted Open Door in Raliegh, N.C., in 1980. I wasn't raised in church, but a friend invited me to Immanuel Baptist Church in Duncan, Okla. That church loved our family through sin and brokenness, preached the truth of the gospel and demonstrated the beauty of God's grace. Jesus saved me, called me to preach, and I met Lori there. We were married in August of 1996, started seminary a month later, started pastoring in 1998 and moved to Phoenix to plant in 2015. We like off-roading, hiking, hunting, skiing, and meeting new folks. We like to hosting and attending parties with our friends. We love Phoenix. We love Arrowhead. We love what Jesus is doing here.

About My Church Plant

Valley Life Church|Arrowhead exists to make disciples and plant churches. We value beauty, brokenness, truth, compassion and community. We believe Jesus disadvantaged Himself for us, so we will disadvantage ourselves for the sake of others. We believe discipling people involves hard conversations, so we run to our brokenness with the truth of the gospel. We want to be friends about Jesus, so we invite people into gospel community. We believe God's plan for saving His people is the church, so we trust the church and endeavor to plant more churches. We believe the gospel, so we preach it in every sermon. We believe Jesus is alive, and this changes everything. We were planted out of the offering plates of other churches, so we financially support other church plants both directly and through the Cooperative Program.

NAMB Church Planting

Demonstrated Christian character is essential for missionaries and chaplains to gain credibility and build community. A missionary is a person who, in response to God's call and gifting, leaves his or her comfort zone and crosses cultural, geographic or other barriers to proclaim the gospel and live out a Christian witness in obedience to the Great Commission. The North American Mission Board supports missionaries serving across the United States, Canada and their territories. Churches are the missionary incubators and sending centers for missionaries through the Southern Baptist Convention. Missionaries serve in a variety of settings and face tremendous challenges. But the rewards are tremendous and life-changing. Missionaries have the privilege to represent their church and their Father in sharing the gospel as the primary focus of their activity. If you are interested in pursuing next steps as a potential missionary or chaplain from your church, explore the possibilities at namb.net/send-me.

Pray

Pray for Jesus to save our friends at our gym and our neighbors. Pray for us to successfully launch our second service in September 2018. Pray for us to launch three more community groups by end of summer/beginning of fall. Pray for us to find a good location to rent/buy and have a "place" not just "space" to rent.

Participate

Partner with us in planting more churches by relocating to Phoenix, plugging into our church and get trained to go help plant the next one. Partner with us by sending teams or to help us canvass our neighborhoods. Partner with us by sending us interns who desire to one day plant a church.
Many missionaries build a team to join their ministry in prayer, participation, and provision. These friends, family and churches support missionaries beyond the tithes and offerings given within the church plant.
