About My Family

I grew up east of LA in Redlands, Calif. I heard about Jesus off and on as a child, but never gave Him more thought. During my college years at Cal Poly Pomona, I met a great group of students and staff of the local Cru chapter. It was through this organization I placed my trust in Jesus and started following Him. After graduating with a B.S. in biology, I spent nine years working with Cru. I met my wife, Alisha, through Cru and, before moving to Studio City to start our church, we worked together at the University of Arizona with Cru. I love LA, movies, technology (especially Apple), great coffee, sports (go Lakers, Raiders, Dodgers and Arizona Wildcats!) and growing in my knowledge of Jesus. We have two children, Piper and Zane, and love sharing life with them. I'm also an M.Div. student at Gateway Seminary.

About My Church Plant

After spending nearly a decade in college ministry, God grew my heart for reaching families as well as more traditionally difficult areas for gospel ministry. Through much prayer God led us to Studio City, Calif., which is a neighborhood of about 40,000 in the middle of Los Angeles. The families and individuals who live in Studio City are often part of the movie and television industry, and are thus creating the stories that shape our country and world. It is one of the most strategic neighborhoods for gospel ministry in the country. Before we started the church in 2014, there were NO evangelical churches at all in the neighborhood. We now meet weekly in the local recreation center seeking to "unite our stories together with God's story to see a greater work in our city."

NAMB Church Planting

Demonstrated Christian character is essential for missionaries and chaplains to gain credibility and build community. A missionary is a person who, in response to God's call and gifting, leaves his or her comfort zone and crosses cultural, geographic or other barriers to proclaim the gospel and live out a Christian witness in obedience to the Great Commission. The North American Mission Board supports missionaries serving across the United States, Canada and their territories. Churches are the missionary incubators and sending centers for missionaries through the Southern Baptist Convention. Missionaries serve in a variety of settings and face tremendous challenges. But the rewards are tremendous and life-changing. Missionaries have the privilege to represent their church and their Father in sharing the gospel as the primary focus of their activity. If you are interested in pursuing next steps as a potential missionary or chaplain from your church, explore the possibilities at

For God to continually be softening the hard soil for the gospel here. One of the biggest ongoing challenges for us in our neighborhood is that people do not have many relationships at all with genuine Christians, so they only have negative stereotypes in their heads. Pray God uses us and our church to draw people to Himself and awakens the lost here.

Connect as a Sending Church or a Supporting Church with our church's work. Commit to long-term missions support with us. Receive our monthly prayer letter to our ministry partners. Pray for us.
Many missionaries build a team to join their ministry in prayer, participation, and provision. These friends, family and churches support missionaries beyond the tithes and offerings given within the church plant. Visit for NAMB's policy on providing for church plants.
