About My Family

I was saved March 1, 1969, on my 13th birthday. I was baptized the following week. I was called to ministry shortly after graduating high school and licensed August 21,1977. My first public ministry was as an associate pastor in training at Calvary Baptist Church of Republic, Mo. I was ordained on February 17,1980, and called to pastor my first church—Curtis Chapel Baptist Church of Marionville, Mo.

A couple of years later, I left the church to begin formal training at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS). In 1984 I received an A.Div. in pastoral ministries. From there, I went to Hannibal Lagrange College, and in 1988, received my Bachelor of Science degree. Major diseases put my life on hold, but in the Lord giving victory, I continued training with an M.Div at NOBTS 2016. I am now pursuing a D.Min. degree from NOBTS.

About My Ministry

I'm currently a pastoral intern. I am also a mentor for the mentoring program at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. I actively participate in the staff planning meetings with Gentilly Baptist Church in New Orleans, La. I help train our membership in sharing the gospel with the people of our community on a regular basis.

I am also the pastor of our ministry to those who are currently without homes in the city of New Orleans. I am part of a team that brings the homeless to our church meeting place to receive clothing, a shower, a hot meal, counseling and a presentation of the gospel, which I personally share. I am also mentoring members of the church in personal spiritual growth. I lead in Bible studies. I am one of the prayer partners of our church who prays for people by name every day, for all who request such.

Pray for boldness to share the gospel and open hearts among the people to whom I speak. Pray that through this ministry, more people would come to saving faith and live on mission. Pray for stamina and longevity for ministry amidst attacks from the enemy.
