About My Family
We are Dylan and Autumn Pentecost, thank you for taking the time to read about how God is at work in our hearts and in Montreal! In early high school we felt a call into ministry. Unsure of what that looked like, we had several Sunday school teachers and our youth pastor pour into us. After each of us took unexpected trips to Montreal through the North American Mission Board's GenSend program, we knew God was calling us to Montreal. We have been together since Autumn was 16 and I was 17. We met in youth group and have had the best time growing up together since. We are from Portland, Tenn., and both attended the University of Tennessee. We made Knoxville home after getting married in August 2017. We love to go to the movies, watch The Office and cook together. We are so thankful for the memories we get to make together.
About My Church Plant
We have been chosen to work alongside Renaissance Church. This church is located in Little Burgundy, a neighborhood on the southwest side of Montreal. In this neighborhood there are several young families and immigrants. This neighborhood has a rich history in the arts and was a popular spot for famous jazz musicians to visit. The heart of Renaissance is "love God, love others, and love our world." We plan to come alongside the believers already there and simply give Jesus our everyday lives, seeking to join Him where He is working.
NAMB Church Planting
Demonstrated Christian character is essential for missionaries and chaplains to gain credibility and build community. A missionary is a person who, in response to God's call and gifting, leaves his or her comfort zone and crosses cultural, geographic or other barriers to proclaim the gospel and live out a Christian witness in obedience to the Great Commission. The North American Mission Board supports missionaries serving across the United States, Canada and their territories. Churches are the missionary incubators and sending centers for missionaries through the Southern Baptist Convention. Missionaries serve in a variety of settings and face tremendous challenges. But the rewards are tremendous and life-changing. Missionaries have the privilege to represent their church and their Father in sharing the gospel as the primary focus of their activity. If you are interested in pursuing next steps as a potential missionary or chaplain from your church, explore the possibilities at namb.net/send-me.
