About My Family

Thirty-two years ago, as newlyweds, my wife and I had a passion to serve the Lord through church planting; this is why we decided to move from Honduras, our home country, to Venezuela. We lived there for 27 years and were witnesses of how the church flourished and grew by the grace of God. During that season of our lives, we had three children, and they have now have given us the joy of being grandparents.

In 2015, my wife and I moved to the United States to plant another church in Jonesboro, Ga. This new season of our lives have not been easy, but we have seen the hand of God. He has been with us and taken care of us every step of the way. It has been a joy to see what the Lord has done here in Jonesboro so far as Hispanic people are being reached with the gospel, discipled and baptized.

About My Church Plant

The Rock Jonesboro is a church plant that began in 2015 and focused on reaching the Hispanic population in south metro Atlanta. The church is made up of a diversity of nationalities, but we are one in Jesus. Our desire as church planters is to have a community filled with love where people can experience the grace of God and genuine relationships. To get there these are the main things we are working on right now:

Strengthening the group that we already have, discipling them and building robust friendships with the goal of developing a support/core group for the church.

Reaching out to unbelievers with the gospel, inviting new people and friends to our church activities.

Having a constant reminder of 1 Corinthians 15:58, knowing that our labor in the Lord is not in vain.

NAMB Church Planting

Demonstrated Christian character is essential for missionaries and chaplains to gain credibility and build community. A missionary is a person who, in response to God's call and gifting, leaves his or her comfort zone and crosses cultural, geographic or other barriers to proclaim the gospel and live out a Christian witness in obedience to the Great Commission. The North American Mission Board supports missionaries serving across the United States, Canada and their territories. Churches are the missionary incubators and sending centers for missionaries through the Southern Baptist Convention. Missionaries serve in a variety of settings and face tremendous challenges. But the rewards are tremendous and life-changing. Missionaries have the privilege to represent their church and their Father in sharing the gospel as the primary focus of their activity. If you are interested in pursuing next steps as a potential missionary or chaplain from your church, explore the possibilities at namb.net/send-me.

It would be a blessing if you could join us in prayer for the following: Unity and growth in the Lord among the members of The Rock Jonesboro. That God may continue to open doors in this community and that people will have receptive hearts for the gospel, understanding the love of Christ and joining the church. That our hearts will always be aligned with God’s will, knowing that He wants us to sow the seed and carefully water it, but He is the one who will give the growth to His church.

Come help us. Our team consists of two people (my wife and I), so if you would like to join us please contact us. We would love to hear from you and find ways you can partner with The Rock Jonesboro. Please keep us in your prayers. You can also support us by becoming a financial partner of this ministry.
Many missionaries build a team to join their ministry in prayer, participation, and provision. These friends, family and churches support missionaries beyond the tithes and offerings given within the church plant.
