About My Family

Jen and I have been married since 2010. During these years, God has been faithful. He gave us two gracious kids, Dan (10) and Eun (8). I served the church as an associate pastor for six years back in Korea before we moved to Canada. My wife, Jen, is a Korean-Canadian immigrant, and because of her, our family moved to Calgary in January 2015.

The last six years of our family life in Calgary were not always easy, but we have been growing by God's grace and love. Especially, God has shown us many immigrant families and given us the heart to serve mixed-marriage families in Calgary.

About My Church Plant

With a heart for international families, in September 2018, two families gathered and started our first prayer meeting. After one year, September 16, 2019, The Vine Church was officially launched with eight families.

Our mission statement is, "We are one family in Christ, abiding in God's love and inviting others to Jesus."

Since launching, we have been able to witness God's grace to the lost and to share the gospel. As a result, we have many converts, and now we are looking forward to having our first baptism ceremony.

NAMB Church Planting

Demonstrated Christian character is essential for missionaries and chaplains to gain credibility and build community. A missionary is a person who, in response to God’s call and gifting, leaves his or her comfort zone and crosses cultural, geographic or other barriers to proclaim the gospel and live out a Christian witness in obedience to the Great Commission. The North American Mission Board supports missionaries serving across the United States, Canada and their territories. Churches are the missionary incubators and sending centers for missionaries through the Southern Baptist Convention. Missionaries serve in a variety of settings and face tremendous challenges. But the rewards are tremendous and life-changing. Missionaries have the privilege to represent their church and their Father in sharing the gospel as the primary focus of their activity. If you are interested in pursuing next steps as a potential missionary or chaplain from your church, explore the possibilities at “Send me.”

Please pray for the lost who come to The Vine Church and also for the lost in the city of Calgary. Please pray for the leadership team of The Vine Church. Please pray for all ministry and outreach.

We send out a monthly newsletter to update partners on our progress as a church and to share prayer requests. If you would like to receive this newsletter, please email ministry@thevineclagry.ca. We are praying for monthly supporters to help with the costs of rent, fellowship activities, administration and children and youth ministries. We would appreciate any missions team visiting us to pray and serve His kingdom together.
Many missionaries build a team to join their ministry in prayer, participation, and provision. These friends, family and churches support missionaries beyond the tithes and offerings given within the church plant. Visit sendnetwork.com/PlanterFunding for NAMB's policy on providing for church plants.
