About My Family

My wife, Jennifer, and I have served and loved together for more than 15 years and are overjoyed to lead and minister together alongside our two children. While I grew up south of Dayton, Ohio, my wife was associated with Cincinnati. After more than a decade of serving in student ministry roles and working with church plants at home and abroad, we returned to our home area to plant the gospel in Cincinnati. We live and breathe inner-Cincy by living in downtown Cincinnati, dealing with the joys and woes of downtown life right alongside our neighbors. Being a family of four living downtown, we certainly stand out!

About My Church Plant

ONE Church was planted in response to the lack of a permanent gospel presence in the inner city. Though many visit downtown Cincinnati on missions trips or even minister downtown for a time, they return home and the hole within the city remains unfilled. In this 1x1 mile more than 100,000 visit, work and live. It is the heart of a region of more than 2 million people. The center of the city is a stronghold with little permanent evangelistic presence, so that's exactly where the church must be.
We seek to make the gospel known by multiplying grace through personal relationships and developing community at each of the 18 major rental properties within one mile. Many churches have started here and moved, many have died. Our pursuit is for a permanent gospel presence to reach the unreached here and touch the whole region beyond.

NAMB Church Planting

Demonstrated Christian character is essential for missionaries and chaplains to gain credibility and build community. A missionary is a person who, in response to God's call and gifting, leaves his or her comfort zone and crosses cultural, geographic or other barriers to proclaim the gospel and live out a Christian witness in obedience to the Great Commission. The North American Mission Board supports missionaries serving across the United States, Canada and their territories. Churches are the missionary incubators and sending centers for missionaries through the Southern Baptist Convention. Missionaries serve in a variety of settings and face tremendous challenges. But the rewards are tremendous and life-changing. Missionaries have the privilege to represent their church and their Father in sharing the gospel as the primary focus of their activity. If you are interested in pursuing next steps as a potential missionary or chaplain from your church, explore the possibilities at namb.net/send-me.

Pray that a movement of DISCIPLESHIP continues to lay the foundation for a vibrant church. Pray that the Spirit stirs GOSPEL RECEPTIVITY to overcome the independent nature of residents. Pray over the sharing of the gospel and mentoring to remain and truly be REPRODUCING. Pray for the LORD'S FAVOR as we gain influence among local leaders. Pray for the involvement and development of LEADERS for the long-term sustainability of ministering downtown. Pray that our God leads churches to OVERCOME FEAR of the city, for they are needed in the work that must be done here. Pray for the spiritual, financial and emotional WELL-BEING of our family with full schedules and in a difficult region.

–PRAYER: the easiest and most powerful means of participation. Contact us regarding ongoing means of praying.
–PRESENCE: stand with us by engaging for a day or season. There are many ways to engage in Cincinnati.

–PARTNER: combine the efforts above and stand with us to reach not only downtown, but the region and beyond.
Many missionaries build a team to join their ministry in prayer, participation, and provision. These friends, family and churches support missionaries beyond the tithes and offerings given within the church plant.
