About My Family

We are the Mangrums. Natalie and I married in 2004 and planted our first church, Origins Greenville, in Greenville, S.C., in 2008. During our time in South Carolina, we celebrated as God blessed us with our sons Noah (2009) and Owen (2012). We relocated to Boston in late 2016 to plant another church. As a family in the city, we love drinking coffee, playing baseball and gym hockey, listening to music together, cheering on the Red Sox, spending time with friends and family and laughing.

About My Church Plant

We relocated to Boston in December 2016 to plant Christ Church Charlestown. The neighborhood is more than 17,000 people living in less than one square mile and is made up of three different and often segregated groups of people. We want to see a church that reflects the neighborhood. Because of that we strive as a church to be involved in the community life of each group, especially in places where they overlap. Christ Church Charlestown exists to bring Charlestown together around the gospel. We believe a life transformed by the gospel is free to simply love Christ, the church and your home—for us, Charlestown and beyond.

NAMB Church Planting

Demonstrated Christian character is essential for missionaries and chaplains to gain credibility and build community. A missionary is a person who, in response to God's call and gifting, leaves his or her comfort zone and crosses cultural, geographic or other barriers to proclaim the gospel and live out a Christian witness in obedience to the Great Commission. The North American Mission Board supports missionaries serving across the United States, Canada and their territories. Churches are the missionary incubators and sending centers for missionaries through the Southern Baptist Convention. Missionaries serve in a variety of settings and face tremendous challenges. But the rewards are tremendous and life-changing. Missionaries have the privilege to represent their church and their Father in sharing the gospel as the primary focus of their activity. If you are interested in pursuing next steps as a potential missionary or chaplain from your church, explore the possibilities at namb.net/send-me.

For boldness and opportunities to share our lives and the gospel with residents of Charlestown. For favor in Charlestown with the neighborhood council, mothers' association, schools and other groups. For God to raise up or send a second pastor and other leaders to help plant a healthy, multiplying church here. For a church planter to come plant in a neighborhood near us with little gospel access.

As a partnering family or church, come serve alongside us in Charlestown as we share our lives and the gospel. Pray about relocating your life, family and ministry to Charlestown and connect with us as God leads.
Many missionaries build a team to join their ministry in prayer, participation, and provision. These friends, family and churches support missionaries beyond the tithes and offerings given within the church plant. Visit sendnetwork.com/PlanterFunding for NAMB's policy on providing for church plants.
