About My Family
If there is anything you need to know about our family, it's that we are ordinary. We say yes, and Jesus does the rest. Matthew is a former PGA golf professional, and Courtney is a stay-at-home mom to Abby Grace (3) and Aria Joy (1). We've enjoyed seven awesome years of marriage, and together our heart is to make Christ known among the nations.
In July 2016, God moved our family from the mountains of western North Carolina to a growing and diverse metro area in the Midwest with nearly 4 million people. Our vision is to see God build healthy, reproducing churches among every ethnic group, so the gospel may spread locally and around the world. For years, the Twin Cities has been a top-10 gateway city for incoming refugees with the largest Hmong, Somalian, Liberian, Karen, Sudanese and Ethiopian populations in the U.S. These people groups and more, many of whom are largely unreached and unengaged locally, are who we regularly engage.
If you would like to learn more, Courtney and I would love to connect with you. We believe that intentional and unceasing prayer precedes a movement of God. Please pray about partnering with us, and join God as He advances His kingdom in the Twin Cities until a multitude from every tribe, language, people and nation is before His throne, crying out in worship to the Lamb (Rev. 5:9, 7:9)!

About My Church Plant
We seek to live out the Great Commission every day by making Jesus' name known among the nations. We know Jesus said, "The good news of the kingdom is a testimony to all the nations and must be proclaimed everywhere before I return" (Matt. 24:14). We also know Jesus said, "I have been given all authority, and so just as the Father sent Me, so I send you, to go and make disciples of all nations" (Matt. 28:18-20; John 20:21). We know that "after Jesus suffered and rose again, He told His disciples to go into all the world and proclaim this good news to all of creation, and then they actually went out and proclaimed it everywhere, beginning in Jerusalem, while Jesus Himself worked" (Mark 16:15, 20; Luke 24:45-47). We know that the Father's heart hasn't changed throughout history and was made known long before He sent Jesus. "For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of My glory, as the waters cover the seas, and I will make you a light to the nations, so that My salvation may reach to the ends of the earth" (Hab. 2:14; Isaiah 49:6).
So how does Jesus expect us to fulfill this mission? Our strategy is simple. It comes from Jesus (Mark 4:26-29) and was carried out by His disciples. Enter new fields in search of God-prepared people (Luke 10), sow the seed of the kingdom (oral stories from God's Word) and then depend on the Spirit to give the increase as new growth is discipled. Last, gather disciples into biblical communities (form churches), and mentor faithful leaders whose fruit surpasses our own (2 Tim. 2:2).

NAMB Church Planting
Demonstrated Christian character is essential for missionaries and chaplains to gain credibility and build community. A missionary is a person who, in response to God's call and gifting, leaves his or her comfort zone and crosses cultural, geographic or other barriers to proclaim the gospel and live out a Christian witness in obedience to the Great Commission. The North American Mission Board supports missionaries serving across the United States, Canada and their territories. Churches are the missionary incubators and sending centers for missionaries through the Southern Baptist Convention. Missionaries serve in a variety of settings and face tremendous challenges. But the rewards are tremendous and life-changing. Missionaries have the privilege to represent their church and their Father in sharing the gospel as the primary focus of their activity.
