About My Family

I grew up churched in Michigan, but didn't begin to be gripped by the power of a life lived in the presence of God until freshman year at Moody Bible Institute. Angelene and I met at Moody and were married in 1998. We now have three teen children and have been planting a ministry in Zionsville, Ind., since 2016.

We enjoy hiking and camping, traveling to visit exotic places, and trying new and diverse foods. I am also an avid mushroom forager and deer hunter.

Graham, our eldest, is a thoughtful reader and is developing a passion for playing guitar. Quinn, our second son, is gregarious and outgoing and enjoys choir and drama as well as fitness. Our daughter, Alaithaya, enjoys art and choir and is passionate about our pet dog, Pippin, and cat, Dave. Together we are learning to be fluent in the gospel in everyday life.

About My Church Plant

Although we never imagined we would plant a church, we have been working in this ministry for three years now. It has been hard and slow and has stretched our faith immensely.

We have purposed to build relationships primarily with neighbors who have no church value whatsoever, and we have found that it takes a lot of time and usually a crisis of some sort for our neighbors to be willing to open up for gospel conversations.

Currently we are working on merging our ministry with another church plant, and we believe that exciting changes and opportunities are just around the corner. We see so much evidence that God is on the move in our town and our county, and we are praying for, personally pursuing, and fully expecting revival and renewal in our midst!

NAMB Church Planting

Demonstrated Christian character is essential for missionaries and chaplains to gain credibility and build community. A missionary is a person who, in response to God's call and gifting, leaves his or her comfort zone and crosses cultural, geographic or other barriers to proclaim the gospel and live out a Christian witness in obedience to the Great Commission. The North American Mission Board supports missionaries serving across the United States, Canada and their territories. Churches are the missionary incubators and sending centers for missionaries through the Southern Baptist Convention. Missionaries serve in a variety of settings and face tremendous challenges. But the rewards are tremendous and life-changing. Missionaries have the privilege to represent their church and their Father in sharing the gospel as the primary focus of their activity. If you are interested in pursuing next steps as a potential missionary or chaplain from your church, explore the possibilities at namb.net/send-me.

Pray

For wisdom, humility and clear guidance as we pursue merging ministries with another local church planter. For receptive hearts among the people in our community, leading to gospel conversations, open relational networks and lives transformed by the gospel. For wisdom and open doors as we begin to plan and invite toward a spring launch date. For the Father to send more workers into His harvest to join us in reaching the neighborhood of Royal Run, the towns of Whitestown and Zionsville, and all of Boone County.

Many missionaries build a team to join their ministry in prayer, participation, and provision. These friends, family and churches support missionaries beyond the tithes and offerings given within the church plant.
