About My Family
Both Canadian-Filipinos, Nate and his wife, Adele, have been married since September 2, 2000. Over the years, Nate and Adele have been involved in planting different kinds of ethnic churches as well as community focused church plants. Along with their three kids, Charis (May 7, 2003), Malachi (May 12, 2005) and Jasmin (November 24, 2008), Nate and Adele relocated back to Edmonton, Alberta, and began praying and envisioning a new church that would reach every nation and every generation. In spring of 2015, Church in the Valley was born!
About My Church Plant
Church in the Valley (CIV) exists to glorify God by making disciples of all nations and every generation. CIV is comprised of both first and 1.5 generation Filipino- Canadians. Our desire is to be a multiethnic church who loves God passionately, loves each other sacrificially and loves our neighbours compassionately.
NAMB Church Planting
Demonstrated Christian character is essential for missionaries and chaplains to gain credibility and build community. A missionary is a person who, in response to God's call and gifting, leaves his or her comfort zone and crosses cultural, geographic or other barriers to proclaim the gospel and live out a Christian witness in obedience to the Great Commission. The North American Mission Board supports missionaries serving across the United States, Canada and their territories. Churches are the missionary incubators and sending centers for missionaries through the Southern Baptist Convention. Missionaries serve in a variety of settings and face tremendous challenges. But the rewards are tremendous and life-changing. Missionaries have the privilege to represent their church and their Father in sharing the gospel as the primary focus of their activity.
