About My Family

I was born in the Dominican Republic but grew up in New York City (NYC). I came to know the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior as I read the gospel of Matthew while in high school. God transformed my life. God has given me since then a passion to preach the gospel and to help as many as possible see the beauty of the Lord Jesus.

I am married to my best friend and dear wife, Dayami Perez. Dayami was born and raised in NYC. We have a son, Navi Perez, who has filled our home with joy. We love spending time together, are always listening to music, or one of us is reading a book, and eating meals together. God called us back to the Bronx to start Fordham Community Church. Our desire is to spend our lives making disciples in the Bronx.

About My Church Plant

We are planting a new church in the Bronx. The Bronx is a beautiful tapestry of diverse cultures. As you walk through it's streets, your right ear is bombarded with the resounding drum of a hip hop beat and your left ear with the swing of salsa while your right foot begins to dance bachata and your left moves to the rhythm of merengue.

It's also a place that is comfortable with spiritual things, but not with Jesus or His church. We want to see a church planted that is a kingdom family that displays the love of Jesus—church that devotes itself to knowing God and His Word, lives like a true spiritual family and loves our neighbors so we would bless our neighborhood with our actions and words. We want to see God glorify His name here in the Bronx.

NAMB Church Planting

Demonstrated Christian character is essential for missionaries and chaplains to gain credibility and build community. A missionary is a person who, in response to God’s call and gifting, leaves his or her comfort zone and crosses cultural, geographic or other barriers to proclaim the gospel and live out a Christian witness in obedience to the Great Commission. The North American Mission Board supports missionaries serving across the United States, Canada and their territories. Churches are the missionary incubators and sending centers for missionaries through the Southern Baptist Convention. Missionaries serve in a variety of settings and face tremendous challenges. But the rewards are tremendous and life-changing. Missionaries have the privilege to represent their church and their Father in sharing the gospel as the primary focus of their activity. If you are interested in pursuing next steps as a potential missionary or chaplain from your church, explore the possibilities at “Send me.”

Pray

For our church to push back lostness in the Bronx and NYC. For receptive hearts among the people in our community. For churches and individuals to partner with us and our church. That God would guard our team and fill us all with strength for the task.

Participate

Connect as a Sending Church or a Supporting Church with our work. Commit to long-term missions support. Be involved in supporting our work and family. Pray for us so God's kingdom would continue advancing here.
Many missionaries build a team to join their ministry in prayer, participation, and provision. These friends, family and churches support missionaries beyond the tithes and offerings given within the church plant.
