About My Church Plant

In February 2018, Sean accepted the call to replant the dying Elmwood Park Bible Church and moved into Elmwood Park, Ill., in June 2018. The church has experienced a solid turnaround and has since been renamed Elmwood Park Community Church. Sean and Lydia are passionate about seeing people grow and mature in their faith and seeing healthy churches serve the Lord in their communities.

Elmwood Park is a suburb of Chicago with 24,000 residents and shares borders with Chicago on two sides. There are almost no evangelical churches left in Elmwood Park, as most of them have closed over the last 10 years. We are seeking to become the church for the the community!

NAMB Church Planting

Millions living in North America have not been reached with the gospel. But a new church makes change possible in an unreached neighborhood.
Send Network church planters immerse themselves in a community, learning the rhythms and culture as they establish relationships with the lost. A church plant grows out of the evangelism efforts of the planter and his core team.

Pray for Sean and Lydia as they replant Elmwood Park Community Church. First and foremost, we need people to join us in prayer for the 24,000 who live in Elmwood Park, Ill. Pray for the old members to accept and embrace the necessary changes in the name, structure and activity of the church. Pray that they would share their faith. Pray for our partnerships in the community, with the Village government and with the schools. Pray for new believers to follow Christ and share their faith. Pray for the church as it seeks to serve the community and be light for the gospel of Christ in a dark place.

We need people to come and serve with us in short-term and long-term capacities. We need volunteer teams to come help us work on the building and to connect with the community. We need short and long-term church partnerships to help us by praying, joining us on the field and supporting the work here financially as we get the church facility back in complete operational condition.
Learn the church plant, its strategy and context, so you can provide relevant resources. Support a church planter financially.
