About My Family

I was born and raised in the Raleigh, N.C., by two upstate New Yorkers who gave me a childhood centered around the gospel and ministry. I was a youth pastor's kid for most of my teen years and grew up seeing ministry up close. Though my first year in college was spent pursuing a career as a chef, God gave me to a desire to serve Him full time and see the gospel advanced. I had the opportunity to be a summer intern for my home church, Open Door Church, serving as a student missionary to church plants and the local body, and also through GenSend in New York City. Through this time, the Lord placed in me a deep love and passion to see New York come to know the saving hope of Jesus and a local body of believers established. In addition to ministry, you can find me drinking coffee, enjoying music and concerts and hanging out with friends.

About My Church Plant

I feel compelled to bring the gospel to New York City, so that through the witness of what Christ has done, those who are lost in their sin may be brought to repentance through an understanding of who Jesus is. With this effort I believe that a body of believers will be established and the city of New York will be changed by the power of God. I have the opportunity to be part of this effort by serving as a church plant team member with Swerve Church in Bushwick, Brooklyn, N.Y. Swerve Church launched in 2017, and God has been faithful in using this church to multiply disciples and redeem Bushwick for His glory. I will be serving with Swerve Church in a variety of ways, such as discipleship, outreach, small groups and worship.

NAMB Church Planting

Demonstrated Christian character is essential for missionaries and chaplains to gain credibility and build community. A missionary is a person who, in response to God's call and gifting, leaves his or her comfort zone and crosses cultural, geographic or other barriers to proclaim the gospel and live out a Christian witness in obedience to the Great Commission. The North American Mission Board supports missionaries serving across the United States, Canada and their territories. Churches are the missionary incubators and sending centers for missionaries through the Southern Baptist Convention. Missionaries serve in a variety of settings and face tremendous challenges. But the rewards are tremendous and life-changing. Missionaries have the privilege to represent their church and their Father in sharing the gospel as the primary focus of their activity. If you are interested in pursuing next steps as a potential missionary or chaplain from your church, explore the possibilities at

For churches as they prepare to send out missionaries and chaplains to push back lostness in North America. For receptive hearts among the people in communities where these missionaries and chaplains will serve. For churches and individuals to partner with missionaries and chaplains and to give of their time and talents. For the Father to send more workers into His harvest to join these missionaries.

Many missionaries build a team to join their ministry in prayer, participation, and provision. These friends, family and churches support missionaries beyond the tithes and offerings given within the church plant. Visit for NAMB's policy on providing for church plants.
