About My Family

My wife, Lauren, and I are native Nebraskans who long to see the people of this state freed from the burden of moralism, which weighs so heavily in the land of "The Good Life." God saved me from that false gospel my freshman year at Wayne State College in Wayne, Neb., when I heard the good news of Jesus clearly explained and demonstrated through the love of two peers, Rick and Tyler.

Lauren and I were married in 2010 and God has blessed us with a daughter, Juliet. Our family loves baseball, college football, the local church and, most of all, Jesus.

About My Church Plant

Calvary Church Kearney is a member of the Calvary Family of Churches (thecalvary.org), and we exist to make Jesus non-ignorable in Kearney and to the ends of the earth, by glorifying God through making joyful, passionate disciples of Jesus.

Moralism is the air we breathe in Nebraska. Nearly everyone thinks they're a Christian because of their performance and family heritage. Our church wants to help our city and state see the futility of moralism, and the surpassing beauty of Christ and His finished work.

Kearney is a thriving community of 30,000+, and the University of Nebraska at Kearney has a reputation as a party school ("You can't spell drunk without UNK!" is a common saying in our state). We long to see our city transformed by the grace of God through the gospel of Jesus.

NAMB Church Planting

Demonstrated Christian character is essential for missionaries and chaplains to gain credibility and build community. A missionary is a person who, in response to God's call and gifting, leaves his or her comfort zone and crosses cultural, geographic or other barriers to proclaim the gospel and live out a Christian witness in obedience to the Great Commission. The North American Mission Board supports missionaries serving across the United States, Canada and their territories. Churches are the missionary incubators and sending centers for missionaries through the Southern Baptist Convention. Missionaries serve in a variety of settings and face tremendous challenges. But the rewards are tremendous and life-changing. Missionaries have the privilege to represent their church and their Father in sharing the gospel as the primary focus of their activity. If you are interested in pursuing next steps as a potential missionary or chaplain from your church, explore the possibilities at namb.net/send-me.

Many missionaries build a team to join their ministry in prayer, participation, and provision. These friends, family and churches support missionaries beyond the tithes and offerings given within the church plant.
