About My Family

I am a Homestead, Fla., native, having lived in this city my whole life. Though I was not raised in the church, I can now see how God was saving this son of a migrant-farm-working family even in my childhood. I trusted Jesus when I was 17 years old at a local church and have never looked back!

I was blessed by God to meet a beautiful girl named Laura at Homestead Senior High. Somehow, I tricked her into marrying me, and we have three beautiful daughters. My family is my greatest accomplishment, as well as God’s greatest display of grace in my life.

Laura and I are both secondary school teachers at a local school in our community. We both have been teaching since we were 21 years old. Our hope is to see this community changed one person at a time.

About My Church Plant

Summit Church of Homestead was planted in 2015. Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus and to help other churches. We also have a ministry in our church called “Trees for Hope” that raises money by selling Christmas trees to help people who have experienced disaster. We are a small church with a big heart. We are believing God for restored marriages, fathers leading in their homes, planting healthy churches, loving the “least of these” and many people coming to know Jesus in the Homestead community.

NAMB Church Planting

Millions living in North America have not been reached with the gospel. But a new church makes change possible in an unreached neighborhood.
Send Network church planters immerse themselves in a community, learning the rhythms and culture as they establish relationships with the lost. A church plant grows out of the evangelism efforts of the planter and his core team.

Pray

Pray for my family as we work together in ministry. Pray the church will be established and will faithfully work to plant in other communities, too. Pray the Lord brings leaders who can help within the church. Pray for stamina and longevity for ministry amidst attacks from the enemy.
