About My Family
Hi, I am Alonza Lewis Jr. I grew up in Birmingham, Ala. I attended Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) where I majored in psychology.
While I was attending AUM, I got very involved in the Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM). There God really showed me His heart for the nations and then grew me as a person who loves to go on mission for Him.
During college, I had the privilege of spending some Christmases and spring breaks in New York City. During those breaks as well as through other short-term trips in North America, I sensed God calling me to New York City. I have a huge heart for New Yorkers, and my heart hurts when I see the lostness in the city. I am so excited to be able to get there and meet people where they are and show them the love of Christ.
If you have any questions feel free to email me at alonzalewis53@yahoo.com.

About My Church Plant
I will be primarily working with the North American Mission Board (NAMB) as a church planting team member at One Community Church in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan. I am serving as the worship service coordinator, so I am in charge of all things for Sunday mornings. I recruit people to serve, build slides for Sunday and much more. I have also been an integral part of English as a Second Language (ESL) Ministry as we try to reach asylum seekers. It has been a blessing to serve in this ministry.
NAMB Church Planting
Millions in North America are in desperate need of hope. Ultimately, the only hope that’s going to last - in this life and the next - is the hope of the gospel. North American missionaries build relationships and share this hope in their communities and beyond.
