About My Family

I am a teacher and my husband, Kyle, is a pastor. We have been married for 30 years and are in our 12th year of service at Chevis Oaks Baptist Church in Savannah, Ga. We have three adult children, a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law and four grandchildren. Since 2002, we have served in South Carolina, Kentucky and Georgia. We delight in sharing the love and freedom found in Christ. I am currently completing my doctorate in organizational leadership at Columbia International and writing my dissertation on the topic of vulnerable women and trauma.

Kyle and I serve as First Families for refugees placed in Savannah. I am the president of Savannah Working Against Human Trafficking, a court appointed special advocate, serve on the board of The Living Vine Christian Maternity Home and am the vice president of Kairos Georgia Women’s Prison Ministry.

About My Ministry

The Sunshine Girls is a ministry in Savannah whose mission is to share the love of Christ with those in the adult entertainment industry in hope of empowering vulnerable and marginalized women and survivors of trafficking to live healthy, flourishing lives. Seventy percent of female victims who are trafficked are trafficked into the commercial sex industry, including the legal forms of it, such as porn, stripping and legal brothels.

Whether they were trafficked or entered by “choice,” research shows that women working in the commercial sex industry experience higher rates of homelessness, exploitation, drug addictions, sexually transmitted diseases, violent assaults and mental health challenges than the general population.

Eight-nine percent of women in the sex industry say they want to escape but see no other means for survival.
