About My Family
For nine years, I was an officer with the Los Angeles Police Department. I felt called to pursue pastoral ministry. I received my MDiv with an emphasis in biblical counseling from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and am certified through the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. I served as an elder in Texas.
I observed that many Christians were leaving California, and it is increasingly becoming a post-Christian society. It is clear there is a need for healthy churches in northern California. In 2023, we moved to Watsonville, Calif., to pursue our calling to start a church in California.
Courtney and I met while we were in school at Biola. We have been married for 15 years and have five children: Jonas, Samuel, Charlotte, Micah, and a baby boy born in October of 2024.

About My Church Plant
We are a confessional, Bible-centered church seeking to worship, proclaim, and live for our King Jesus Christ, and to plant healthy churches to do likewise (Matthew 28:16-20). We seek to proclaim the King through evangelism to a lost county, utilizing God’s providential relationships, vocations and locations to share the gospel. We seek to worship the King through the preaching of the Word, song, prayer, baptism and Communion. We seek to live for the King and to teach others to do so through Bible-centered preaching, discipleship and counseling.
We’re planting in Santa Cruz County, which is in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Bay Area is America’s #1 churchless area. There are only a few healthy, faithful churches in Santa Cruz County, and there is an incredible need for a healthy, confessional Baptist church.

NAMB Church Planting
Millions living in North America have not been reached with the gospel. But a new church makes change possible in an unreached neighborhood.
Send Network church planters immerse themselves in a community, learning the rhythms and culture as they establish relationships with the lost. A church plant grows out of the evangelism efforts of the planter and his core team.
