About My Family
I have been married to Sheralyn Aker for 19 years and counting! We have four children. Lana is 17 and will be a senior in high school this year. Summer is 15 and will be a sophomore. AJ is 11 and will be heading to his first year of middle school and sixth grade. My youngest, Kinsley, is 9 years old and heading to the fourth grade.
About My Church Plant
After 14 years of ministry at Grove Avenue Baptist Church in Richmond, Va., my family and I followed God’s call to South Florida to join Family Church in West Palm Beach. We wanted to grow in church planting and see how God might use us in this mission field.
Following our two years in Family Church’s residency program, we had the opportunity to help launch Family Church North Stuart. There I served as the bivocational pastor to children and families alongside lead pastor, Todd Gaston.
Now, we’re stepping into a brand-new adventure—planting Family Church Lakewood Park! We are building our launch team and will prayerfully launch October 12, 2025. We’re excited to be part of what God is doing in Lakewood Park and on the Treasure Coast as we build families by helping them discover and pursue God’s design.

NAMB Church Planting
Millions in North America are in desperate need of hope. Ultimately, the only hope that’s going to last - in this life and the next - is the hope of the gospel. North American missionaries build relationships and share this hope in their communities and beyond.
