About My Family

My wife, Heather, and I have been married for 23 years and have two sons, Corben and Colbe. Corben and his wife, Carlie, live in Oklahoma, and Colbe is finishing high school here in Sheridan.

I was born and raised in southwest Oklahoma on a family farm and spent 15 years in the oilfield on a drilling rig. We are still involved in farming and ranching in Oklahoma through the support of family.

While on a missions trip to Wyoming in the summer of 2017, my wife and I both felt God calling us to church planting. We spent a couple of years going through training for church planting with the North American Mission Board (NAMB) and currently we are teamed up with NAMB and the Wyoming Southern Baptist Mission Network.

About My Church Plant

In June 2020, we moved to Sheridan, Wyo. We started a Bible study in our home and then moved into a rented classroom in a former elementary school where we started worship services in September 2020. We outgrew that space within six months and then met for almost a year in a conference room of a local hotel. We are currently meeting in a rented building that was a church.

We do community outreaches through the summer that include rodeo arena fun days, block parties in a local park, a block party and revival event that we call Weekend of Fun and Faith and, in 2022, we had our first week-long Vacation Bible School.

NAMB Church Planting

Demonstrated Christian character is essential for missionaries and chaplains to gain credibility and build community. A missionary is a person who, in response to God's call and gifting, leaves his or her comfort zone and crosses cultural, geographic or other barriers to proclaim the gospel and live out a Christian witness in obedience to the Great Commission. The North American Mission Board supports missionaries serving across the United States, Canada and their territories. Churches are the missionary incubators and sending centers for missionaries through the Southern Baptist Convention. Missionaries serve in a variety of settings and face tremendous challenges. But the rewards are tremendous and life-changing. Missionaries have the privilege to represent their church and their Father in sharing the gospel as the primary focus of their activity. If you are interested in pursuing next steps as a potential missionary or chaplain from your church, explore the possibilities at namb.net/send-me.

Pray

Pray for receptive hearts among the people in Sheridan where we are serving. Pray those attending The Homeplace will have a fire for reaching the lost. Pray that churches and individuals will partner with us and The Homeplace Cowboy Church, giving of their time and talents. Pray that God will send more workers to join us on this mission.

Participate

At this time we are asking for people to partner with us through daily prayer and financial support. Becoming a financial partner will enable us to effectively reach the people of Sheridan.
Many missionaries build a team to join their ministry in prayer, participation, and provision. These friends, family and churches support missionaries beyond the tithes and offerings given within the church plant.
