About My Family

As in every salvation story, God used unique circumstances to bring me to Him. When I was 8, my father passed away. Through conversations with my mother and a local pastor, I came to faith in Jesus.

As a student at the University of Central Missouri (UCM), I attended the Baptist Student Union (BSU). A few of the guys challenged me to examine my desolate spiritual life. By the grace of God, I gained an understanding of living a Christlike life. I served as a student leader, moved to Columbus, Ohio, for a bit and returned to work as the associate campus missionary at UCM.

On June 11, 2022, I will marry my fiancée, Meraiah Humphrey! We will live in Kansas City, Mo. She will work as a registered nurse and plans to participate in college student ministry as much as she can. We are very excited to be witnesses in Kansas City!

About My Ministry

College students are an amazingly strategic group. After graduation, they scatter to places around the world and reach people vocational missionaries may not be able to because of persecution. Unlike many others, they are willing to engage in conversation about their beliefs.

I am currently serving as an apprentice at the BSU at UCM. Our mission is to reach students on UCM's campus with the gospel and love of Jesus Christ. Lord willing, in the summer of 2022, I will plant a campus ministry at the University of Missouri Kansas City (UMKC) in partnership with the Missouri Baptist Convention. There are huge numbers of lost people at UMKC, many of whom are international students. What an opportunity we have to reach the nations in our backyard!

I am currently pursuing a Master of Divinity degree at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Pray

Pray for boldness to share the gospel and open hearts among UCM and UMKC students. Pray that through this ministry, many more people would follow Jesus and live on mission. Pray for wisdom and grace for ministry amidst attacks from the enemy. Pray for more co-laborers at UMKC (Matthew 9:37-38). Pray for perseverance as I continue my education.
