About My Family
I born and raised in Ethiopia. In 1999, one of my friends invited me to attend on worship conference. I believed in Jesus Christ, and my life has been completely transformed. In 2000, I knew my calling was to be a pastor and church planter. For 15 years, I served as a pastor and church planter in Ethiopia and planted four churches. I finished my Bachelor of Arts in Theology.
My wife, Yetnayet Woldegiorgis, and I have been married since 2012. Our son is Samuel Merna.
We came to U.S. from Ethiopia in 2016 and have been praying and seeking for God’s guidance. God gave us a burden for the lost souls of the Ethiopians and Eritreans in the Washington, D.C. metro area who don’t understand or speak English. The population is estimated at 1.7 million and 98% of the people haven’t accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

About My Church Plant
My wife and I are currently spending our time in the community and serving as a church planter in the area. Christ’s Saints Church was launched in November 2024 in Alexandria, Va. Now we have an outreach every Friday at 5 p.m. More than 500 are reached with the gospel. Twenty people have believed in Christ and eight people have been baptized, and we are seeing the church continue to grow.
Mission:
Plant gospel-centered churches in the Washington, D.C. metro area to reach Amharic, Tigrinya and Orminya speakers and their children through using their language and their culture.
Our vision statement:
Build a thriving Christian community, overcoming language barriers, and transforming and growing in Christ.

NAMB Church Planting
Millions in North America are in desperate need of hope. Ultimately, the only hope that’s going to last - in this life and the next - is the hope of the gospel. North American missionaries build relationships and share this hope in their communities and beyond.
