About My Family
We are a family who just moved to Many Farms in the heart of the Navajo Reservation to replant a church in my hometown with a focus on long-term discipleship.
I grew up here on the “Rez.” I was raised without running water in a dysfunctional alcoholic family. In middle school, I heard the gospel at a VBS. I prayed to receive Christ then, but no one discipled me until I moved to Phoenix after graduating high school. By God’s providence, I eventually attended a great church during college, where I grew in my faith.
I met Brianna on a mission trip to the Blackfeet Rez in Montana in 2016, completed my undergrad at Arizona State University and got married in 2018. I completed my MDiv at Phoenix Seminary in 2023, a few weeks before our son, Tyndale, was born. We have a new baby boy named Théoden J. Tallas born 3:36 a.m. Tuesday February 4!

About My Church Plant
I hope to re-launch an existing “church”—Many Farms Baptist—that is currently just a small Bible study of women who have not had a pastor in nearly a decade.
The Rez has had many seeds planted, but very little watering. My story of it taking 10 years after I prayed “the prayer” before someone taught me what it meant to really walk with Christ, is common. Many Navajos could tell you a two-sentence gospel, but very few actually know Jesus.
Missionary pastors typically come for a 3-4 year maximum before leaving. My people have been reached, but they have been mis-reached with a gospel of easy believe-ism and almost no one has stayed for the long haul to sort through how Jesus penetrates our culture and our trauma. Our goal is to build a healthy church and disciple families to grow into a robust faith that impacts all of their lives.

NAMB Church Planting
Millions living in North America have not been reached with the gospel. But a new church makes change possible in an unreached neighborhood.
Send Network church planters immerse themselves in a community, learning the rhythms and culture as they establish relationships with the lost. A church plant grows out of the evangelism efforts of the planter and his core team.
