About My Family
Shanni and I are originally from Colorado and have now been reaching college students, young professionals and families in the San Diego State University area through our local church plant, Compass Church. I began as an associate pastor in 2018 on the founding planting team. Now, I have moved into the lead pastor role of Compass and am eager to see the Lord work in this city we have come to love.
Shanni is an amazing mom to our two sons and our adopted daughter. She enjoys meeting ladies for coffee, asking intentional questions and often beating me in board games. I enjoy playing music, watching movies, being outdoors and spending time with my family. We have been partnering in ministry for nearly 10 years.

About My Church Plant
Compass Church is our church plant (launched 2018) to reach those around San Diego State University (SDSU). There are 200,000 college students in San Diego and 35,000 at SDSU with whom we are reaching. Compass is praying to be a sending base, where many are trained up and sent out. We have military personnel at our church, families with a few kids, many young professionals and even more college students.
With our giftings, my family and I desire to share the gospel and offer opportunities for people to respond to a new life in Christ. Then, with His help, train them to live missionally in their homes and workplaces, living as lifelong disciples of Jesus.

NAMB Church Planting
Demonstrated Christian character is essential for missionaries and chaplains to gain credibility and build community. A missionary is a person who, in response to God's call and gifting, leaves his or her comfort zone and crosses cultural, geographic or other barriers to proclaim the gospel and live out a Christian witness in obedience to the Great Commission. The North American Mission Board supports missionaries serving across the United States, Canada and their territories. Churches are the missionary incubators and sending centers for missionaries through the Southern Baptist Convention. Missionaries serve in a variety of settings and face tremendous challenges. But the rewards are tremendous and life-changing. Missionaries have the privilege to represent their church and their Father in sharing the gospel as the primary focus of their activity. If you are interested in pursuing next steps as a potential missionary or chaplain from your church, explore the possibilities at namb.net/send-me.
