About My Family

My name is Chris Hignite, and I am married to my beautiful wife, Ashley. We have seven children. Hayden (1 month), Dalton (1), Max (4), Grayson (7), Lilly (8), Gianna (11) and Mallory (18).

As you can see we love children and are thankful that God has blessed us with a large family. We have been serving in foster care for eight years now. We are members of First Baptist Church of Paintsville. The Lord has given us a passion to make disciples, and we want to commit our lives to doing just that.

About My Ministry

I am a collegiate missionary at Big Sandy Community and Technical College (BSCTC). At Big Sandy, I will be working with the Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM). Our goals with the BCM are to reach students with the gospel, disciple them to become mature believers in Christ and to connect them to a local church. We want to see students lives changed with the transforming power of the gospel and then see them go out and make disciples for the glory of God.

Pray

Pray we would be bold in sharing the gospel. Pray many students will embrace salvation. Pray student leaders will be raised up. Pray students will connect to a local church. Pray for my transition to full-time campus ministry. Pray the BCM will become recognized as a registered student organization on our campus. Pray for the expansion of the BCM to other BSCTC campuses.

Participate

Join us as we serve our students lunch on Wednesdays from 11a.m.–1 p.m. (Prestonburg Campus). During lunch come meet our students and share with them the good news of the Jesus Christ. You can also partner with our family and ministry through prayer and monthly giving. Your prayers will be what fuels our ministry. Your giving will allow me to commit all of my time to disciple making on campus..
