About My Family

Dane is married to Laura, and together they have two energetic little children—a 4-year-old girl named Cecile and a 1-year-old boy named Soren. The Helsings live in Belmont, Mass., which is a town seven miles west of Boston where they planted a church with a phenomenal team of friends in September 2015. Dane and his family love their town, their neighbors and anything outdoors, like running, biking, hiking, etc.

About My Church Plant

Dane serves as the lead pastor/planter of Beacon Community Church in Belmont, Mass. Beacon is a two and one-half year old church plant just west of the city of Boston. Beacon Community Church exists to share the good news of Jesus Christ, to connect people with God and one another in community, to serve their neighbors in tangible ways, to develop as followers of Jesus and to multiply as people who are engaged in Jesus' redemptive mission locally and globally.

NAMB Church Planting

Demonstrated Christian character is essential for missionaries and chaplains to gain credibility and build community. A missionary is a person who, in response to God's call and gifting, leaves his or her comfort zone and crosses cultural, geographic or other barriers to proclaim the gospel and live out a Christian witness in obedience to the Great Commission. The North American Mission Board supports missionaries serving across the United States, Canada and their territories. Churches are the missionary incubators and sending centers for missionaries through the Southern Baptist Convention. Missionaries serve in a variety of settings and face tremendous challenges. But the rewards are tremendous and life-changing. Missionaries have the privilege to represent their church and their Father in sharing the gospel as the primary focus of their activity. If you are interested in pursuing next steps as a potential missionary or chaplain from your church, explore the possibilities at namb.net/send-me.

Pray

–Pray for relationships to be built and the gospel to be shared with people in our community who need Jesus.
–Pray that disciples would be made and churches would be planted through Beacon Community Church.
–Pray for a facility that could better accommodate our space needs for adults and children.
–Pray that God would be glorified through Beacon Community Church.

Participate

We love to host missions teams as a way for people to explore the work in Boston. Mission trips are a fantastic way to serve with us, and they are a means by which God can stir a partner church's heart for mission and multiplication in a context different from its own.
Many missionaries build a team to join their ministry in prayer, participation, and provision. These friends, family and churches support missionaries beyond the tithes and offerings given within the church plant.
