About My Family

I accepted Jesus at the age of 10. At the age of 19, I was working at Glorieta Baptist Conference Center and, through a friend’s example, God began to show me what true intimacy with Christ is, and I began my journey of truly abiding in Him. Soon after, I surrendered to missions. Since then I have received my M.A. in missiology at SWBTS, and I have served in many short- and long-term assignments all over the world.

While ministering in Hawaii, God began to call me to back to Memphis. I love everything Memphis: U of M Tigers, the Grizzlies and fun restaurants. I am proud to be a Memphian and believe God desires to see transformation in the lives of all those who call Memphis home. I love living in the same city as my family again, and I love being the proud owner of a Schi-zu named Silas. I am also an unashamed, loyal Denver Bronco fan.

About My Ministry

I serve in partnership with other like-minded believers, who make up our Refugee Memphis team. Daily we carry out God’s Great Commission in making disciples as we befriend, serve and share Jesus with refugees from many different countries. We have a biblical vision of God’s mission and are committed to church-based ministry of being and making disciples cross culturally. We are on mission together and are committed to the task of engaging our friends with the gospel.

Refugee Memphis assists with immigration needs, employment preparation, English acquisition and resettlement needs, while building community as we show and share the love of Christ. Our team also helps with church plants among Afghans and Ukrainians. Our ministries work closely with the pastors of these churches to build community while making disciples.

Pray

Please pray refugees will ask the question, “What if I'm wrong about Jesus?” Pray they will be open to the truth of the gospel and will give their lives to Christ and become harvesters. Pray more churches will be started among the nations living in Memphis, Tenn. Pray for opportunities to engage more refugees with the gospel (those we haven’t met yet). Pray for our immigrant friends who have just been baptized and are growing in their faith. Pray for more funding for Refugee Memphis. Pray for more volunteers and churches to partner with us by serving in the ministries we offer. Pray for more support for me and two others who serve full time and require full support.

Many missionaries build a team to join their ministry in prayer, participation, and provision. These friends, family and churches support missionaries beyond the tithes and offerings given within the church plant.
