About My Family
Hi! My name is Emily, and I am so glad you are here! Here is a little bit about me!
I grew up in Trussville, Ala., just outside of Birmingham. I came to know Christ in 2012 and felt the Lord placed a call to ministry on my life a few years later at a Lifeway summer camp. I spent my high school years learning what life in ministry looks like and fell in love with serving the local church.
After high school, I attended Ouachita Baptist University and graduated in 2023 with a degree in biblical studies. While in college I served in a local youth ministry, and the Lord began to grow a deep passion in my heart for discipleship. Since graduating I have learned in so many ways what it looks like to truly trust the Lord. In this process of learning to trust, the Lord has made clear to me that my next step of obedience is to move to Utah!

About My Church Plant
In fall, I will be moving to Herriman, Utah, to serve at Awaken City Church as the Ladies Discipleship and Communications Coordinator. I am beyond excited to get to be part of what the Lord is doing in Utah. Awaken City is one of four evangelical churches in Herriman. Five years ago when they planted, they were the first.
Located in the Salt Lake Valley, Awaken City is surrounded by many people who don’t know Jesus. These people have a desperate need for the Savior and as part of the Awaken City team I will have the opportunity to meet people where they are and share the good news of Christ with them.
The brokenness of the world is evident in Utah, and Awaken City has the beautiful opportunity to point a people who are hurting and longing for a Savior to Christ.

Millions in North America are in desperate need of hope. Ultimately, the only hope that’s going to last - in this life and the next - is the hope of the gospel. North American missionaries build relationships and share this hope in their communities and beyond.
