About My Family

(Me pictured above in NYC with 1857 prayer revival catalyst, Jeremiah Lamphier.)

My wife, Janette, and I have lived part-time in Queens, New York City, since 2016 where we work with church planters and mission churches. We are Kentucky natives and graduates of the University of Kentucky. Janette has seminary degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas, and from Columbia International Seminary in South Carolina. I spent 29 years in finance in the newspaper and financial information industry.

Our primary residence is in Greenville, S.C., where we have lived since 2001. Prior to that, we lived in Pennsylvania and New Jersey while I worked in finance in Manhattan for 15 years. We come from spiritually rich lineages with thousands having come to the Lord through the ministries of our parents and grandparents.

About My Church Plant

God burdened us with the need to share the love of Christ with the many souls in New York City. We love ministering in the metro NYC area, where the fields are ripe for harvest but the laborers are few.

I am involved in several ministries serving different churches in myriad ways from financial management, to pastor encouragement, to planter assessments, to strategizing, to encouraging prayer warriors and outside teams to visit and partner.

Jeanette is a gifted artist (who uses this skill to encourage women), an amazing Bible scholar, a nurturing teacher and an amazing prayer partner.

NAMB Church Planting

Demonstrated Christian character is essential for missionaries and chaplains to gain credibility and build community. A missionary is a person who, in response to God's call and gifting, leaves his or her comfort zone and crosses cultural, geographic or other barriers to proclaim the gospel and live out a Christian witness in obedience to the Great Commission. The North American Mission Board supports missionaries serving across the United States, Canada and their territories. Churches are the missionary incubators and sending centers for missionaries through the Southern Baptist Convention. Missionaries serve in a variety of settings and face tremendous challenges. But the rewards are tremendous and life-changing. Missionaries have the privilege to represent their church and their Father in sharing the gospel as the primary focus of their activity. If you are interested in pursuing next steps as a potential missionary or chaplain from your church, explore the possibilities at namb.net/send-me.

Pray

Pray for churches as they prepare to send out missionaries and chaplains to push back lostness in North America. Pray there would be receptive hearts among the people in communities where missionaries and chaplains serve. Pray churches and individuals will partner with missionaries and chaplains and give of their time and talents. Pray the Father will send more workers into His harvest to join missionaries. Pray revival will sweep NYC as it did in 1857 when layman Jeremiah Lamphier stepped out in faith.

Participate

Connect as a Sending Church or a Supporting Church with a missionary’s work. Commit to long-term missions support with your missionary partner. Be involved in supporting missionaries and their families. Pray for missionaries.
Many missionaries build a team to join their ministry in prayer, participation, and provision. These friends, family and churches support missionaries beyond the tithes and offerings given within the church plant. Visit sendnetwork.com/PlanterFunding for NAMB's policy on providing for church plants.
