About My Family

I grew up knowing the facts about Jesus Christ from a very early age, but at the age of 16, I met Jesus for the first time as the One to Whom I owed my whole being. I was saved in a revival service at the church that is now—more than 50 years later—sponsoring our new church plant.

The Lord has given me the perfect partner with whom to share this ministry. My wife, Sandy, is my princess, a true daughter of the King. She is a nurse with a caring heart and a loving spirit. Her gift is serving. Mine is teaching. I exercised that gift as a theology professor for more than three decades, and I am anxious to use it now to shepherd the flock of God at Lake Rousseau.

Sandy and I had the joy of rearing three fine sons—Mike, Joshua and Jason—all grown and gone. Now we share our lives with three sassy Yorkies: Lucy, Ethel and Henry. God is good!

About My Church Plant

The ministry we have undertaken at Lake Rousseau came as a surprise to us. We did not return to Florida after nearly 50 years away with the idea that we would be planting a new church, but that is what we’re doing by the grace and providence of God!

Lake Rousseau Baptist Church (LRBC) is seven miles west of where I grew up in Dunnellon, Fla., and seven miles east of Sandy’s childhood home in Crystal River. We know the area and love the people. We desire to show them the love of Jesus and the richness of following Him in every facet of life.

The Bible is our guidebook, the love of Christ is our motivating force, and a deep and authentic life that is worthy of the One who called us is our goal. The Great Commandment (Matthew 22:36-40) and The Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20) are the focus of all we do at LRBC. Will you join us?

NAMB Church Planting

Millions in North America are in desperate need of hope. Ultimately, the only hope that’s going to last - in this life and the next - is the hope of the gospel. North American missionaries build relationships and share this hope in their communities and beyond.

Pray

Pray for boldness to share the gospel and open hearts among the people to whom we speak. Pray that through this ministry, more people would come to saving faith and live on mission. Pray for stamina and longevity for ministry amidst attacks from the enemy. Pray the Lord of the Harvest will send laborers to help us in the great work that must be done for the souls of those Jesus died to save.
