About My Family
Slaney and I both grew up in Placerville, Calif. We started dating in high school after becoming friends through marching band. When we moved to Chico for school, we quickly got connected with Christian Challenge and have been student leaders in the ministry throughout our college years. We both graduated in May 2023, me with a bachelor’s degree in recording arts and Slaney with a master’s degree in biological sciences. We were married early June 2023!
A favorite hobby we share is music, and we are privileged to serve on the worship team at the Chico Community Church. We love to hike, camp, water ski and anything else outdoors. We also love college students. Investing in their lives is such a joy!

About My Ministry
Christian Challenge at Chico State is a college ministry that seeks to reach students for Jesus and to help them connect with a godly community. We host fun events, large group worship nights and Bible studies. We emphasize one-on-one discipleship with the goal of investing in the lives of each individual student. We want to establish them in their own walk with Jesus and train them to share their faith with others. Challenge’s vision is centered on multiplying disciples of Jesus who will be equipped to follow God’s will for their lives. The relationships in this community are deep and meaningful and have made a significant impact on both of our lives, so we love bringing more students in to experience it.
