As a 501(c)(3) organization, the North American Mission Board respects the intent of givers while retaining discretion over the use of all gifts. Any gifts received above the specific need will be applied where the need is greatest.
About My Family
Joel grew up in Westerly, R.I. Being raised in a Christian home, he was taught the truths of the gospel, saw his personal need for salvation and, by God’s grace, came to faith in Christ at a young age. In his final year of high school, he became increasingly open to the possibility of giving himself to full-time Christian ministry, in whatever capacity that might be.
After graduating with a B.A. in theology, he and his wife, Jen, moved to Providence and connected with the ministry of Grace Harbor Church. He also began graduate studies through Southern Seminary. In 2009, Joel began working with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF) at Roger Williams University. After four years with IVCF, he served as an elder and associate pastor at Grace Harbor Church in Providence for three years. Joel and Jen moved to Bristol in June 2015 and are excited to call Bristol home. They are tired and happy parents to Peter and Margot.

About My Church Plant
Our mission is to see a gospel-centered church firmly planted in the Bristol community. It is our aim to be a church that is in Bristol, of Bristol and for Bristol. We will seek to do this by loving God, loving His church and loving the Bristol community. We desire to be a church community that follows Jesus together as we declare and display His good news.
NAMB Church Planting
Demonstrated Christian character is essential for missionaries and chaplains to gain credibility and build community. A missionary is a person who, in response to God's call and gifting, leaves his or her comfort zone and crosses cultural, geographic or other barriers to proclaim the gospel and live out a Christian witness in obedience to the Great Commission. The North American Mission Board supports missionaries serving across the United States, Canada and their territories. Churches are the missionary incubators and sending centers for missionaries through the Southern Baptist Convention. Missionaries serve in a variety of settings and face tremendous challenges. But the rewards are tremendous and life-changing. Missionaries have the privilege to represent their church and their Father in sharing the gospel as the primary focus of their activity. If you are interested in pursuing next steps as a potential missionary or chaplain from your church, explore the possibilities at namb.net/send-me.
