About My Family
My name is Michael Matzeder, or Mike as most people call me, and I’ve lived in Virginia my whole life. I went to college at Virginia Military Institute and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
That degree got me a job that brought me here to Charlottesville. After about two years of working, God started showing me the desires/passions He put in me to focus more of my time toward His mission. I’m excited to now be transitioning to doing ministry full time with my church here in Charlottesville.

About My Ministry
I am on the college staff at Center Church in Charlottesville, Va. The primary aspects of this role are discipleship and evangelism to the students at the University of Virginia (UVA), which is the main college here in Charlottesville.
I believe outreach to college students is an important ministry as they are currently in a time of making key life decisions and going through significant life experiences. It’s important that students hear the good news of Jesus, and those who make the decision to follow Him, have people around them to help guide them in how to best live a Christian life. Both now in their remaining college years and in the future following graduation!
