About My Family
Zoe and I met and fell in love in the mountains of Alberta. From there we spent time serving in churches in Virginia (where I am from) and eventually entered a church planting apprenticeship. During that time, we felt called to return west and participate in gospel work among mountain and adventure cultures.
Through God’s grace, Canmore became the center of our imagination and vision, and we arrived in 2017 as participants in God’s work. In August 2018, we added a native Canmorite—Blythe.

About My Church Plant
We believe all people are sojourners journeying toward something. Canmorites especially value this ethic as they choose their adventure and write their story. This is the context in which The Cairn wishes to bring good news. In a world of innumerable paths to take, we want to mark the way of Jesus as the way to life. We want to be a signpost along the way for sojourners to taste and see how good, true and beautiful the gospel is. Therefore, our mission is to be “Sojourners forming family through Jesus.”
We began as a small group praying for this reality in late 2017. Since then, we’ve seen people transformed by the gospel, sent out into various corners of the world as ambassadors and planted small groups as little families of gospel presence in neighbourhoods around the Bow Valley.

NAMB Church Planting
Demonstrated Christian character is essential for missionaries and chaplains to gain credibility and build community. A missionary is a person who, in response to God's call and gifting, leaves his or her comfort zone and crosses cultural, geographic or other barriers to proclaim the gospel and live out a Christian witness in obedience to the Great Commission. The North American Mission Board supports missionaries serving across the United States, Canada and their territories. Churches are the missionary incubators and sending centers for missionaries through the Southern Baptist Convention. Missionaries serve in a variety of settings and face tremendous challenges. But the rewards are tremendous and life-changing. Missionaries have the privilege to represent their church and their Father in sharing the gospel as the primary focus of their activity. If you are interested in pursuing next steps as a potential missionary or chaplain from your church, explore the possibilities at namb.net/send-me.
