About My Family

We believe international students in North America are the most strategic agents to fulfill the Great Commission. I was privileged to grow up the child of missionaries. My parents served with the International Mission Board (IMB) for 33 years. I am happily married to Alana, and we have two boys: Ike and Tobi. We enjoy living in the small, college town of Clemson, S.C. We very much enjoy introducing our international friends to Jesus and to our American culture and ways. We are a family in ministry, and it would not be much fun any other way.

About My Ministry

Since August 2008, I have served as the director of international student ministries with the Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM) at Clemson University. I am available to encourage, equip and mobilize church members, churches and associations in developing effective strategies to share the good news about Jesus Christ with international students, scholars and their families during the limited time God has placed them on our doorstep.
Our three basic goals are: (1) to share the good news about Jesus Christ with international students, scholars and their families; (2) to equip and disciple international student believers to share this same gospel both here and in their home countries; (3) to equip and involve believers in touching the world with the good news of Jesus Christ through ministries to international students.

This contribution is made with the understanding that The North American Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, Inc. has complete discretion and control over the use of the donated funds.

That the Holy Spirit will precede us and prepare the hearts of internationals to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ. That associations, churches and individuals will see and understand that God is bringing international students to U.S. college campuses for His purposes. That God alone will choose and bring students to the ministry and that they will be taught and equipped in ways that bring Him alone glory. For God to provide abundantly for the needs of Jon and his family and for the needs of the ministry.

Many missionaries build a team to join their ministry in prayer, participation, and provision. These friends, family and churches support missionaries beyond the tithes and offerings given within the church plant. Visit for NAMB's policy on providing for church plants.
