About My Family

My wife, Amy, and daughter, Natalie, and I moved to the town of Severance, Colo., in August 2017 to plant a church. I retired as a Tyler police officer in July of 2017 after 20 years of service, and Amy left her job in banking after 17 years. Natalie, who was 14, left her school and friends to church plant in northern Colorado. I also pastored County Line Baptist Church for almost six years as a bivocational pastor. We have had the call to plant a church for many years and followed God's call to serve and love the community of Severance. We also have a son, Garrett, who is a full-time student at Dallas Baptist University.

About My Church Plant

We moved to Severance in August of 2017 and began an apprenticeship with Living Rock Church in Timnath just west of Severance. We have been gathering and training our core team and are having weekly small group meetings. We plan to launch as Living Rock Church Severance in January 2019. We will have preview services in October, November and December and will meet at Severance Middle School. Our goal is to love our community well, build relationships and share the gospel as we disciple believers.

NAMB Church Planting

Demonstrated Christian character is essential for missionaries and chaplains to gain credibility and build community. A missionary is a person who, in response to God's call and gifting, leaves his or her comfort zone and crosses cultural, geographic or other barriers to proclaim the gospel and live out a Christian witness in obedience to the Great Commission. The North American Mission Board supports missionaries serving across the United States, Canada and their territories. Churches are the missionary incubators and sending centers for missionaries through the Southern Baptist Convention. Missionaries serve in a variety of settings and face tremendous challenges. But the rewards are tremendous and life-changing. Missionaries have the privilege to represent their church and their Father in sharing the gospel as the primary focus of their activity. If you are interested in pursuing next steps as a potential missionary or chaplain from your church, explore the possibilities at namb.net/send-me.

Pray

Pray for our family as we strive to love our community and team. Pray for our church plant as we grow. Pray for God's favor on us that we can impact our community.

Participate

We would love to partner with others who would like to assist in making a gospel footprint in northern Colorado. This can be done through prayer, financial support and physical support.
Many missionaries build a team to join their ministry in prayer, participation, and provision. These friends, family and churches support missionaries beyond the tithes and offerings given within the church plant. Visit sendnetwork.com/PlanterFunding for NAMB's policy on providing for church plants.
