About My Family

Susan and I have been married for more than 35 years. We have four boys, three of them biological and one adopted. Our oldest son is married with three girls, and our second oldest son is married with a girl and boy. Our third son graduated high school in 2017 and is now attending college. Our fourth son is a fifth grader.

About My Ministry

I am an SBC-endorsed chaplain for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ)– Lewis Unit in Woodville, Texas. I am a member of First Baptist Church in Colmesneil, Texas, where I serve as a deacon and volunteer teacher.

Pray

Pray that God would heal the brokenness we have experienced this year in my local community and that God would build families and mend marriages. Pray God would bring families closer to himself and church involvement. Pray for the prison ministry. Pray I can show the people where I serve the love of Christ and that the Holy Spirit will open their minds and hearts to the truth of the gospel.

Participate

Commit to long-term prayer support. Explore the opportunities to extend the reach of your church by becoming a chaplain. Be involved in supporting chaplains and their families. Send notes of encouragement. Talk with a chaplain about his or her ministry context. Pray for chaplains and their families. If you are interested in doing prison ministry at a TDCJ facility in your area, information is on the TDCJ website.
