About My Family
Malaina and I, along with our two young kids, moved from Minnesota to Florida in June 2023 to launch Horizon City. I was a pastor at Cities Church in St. Paul and professor at Bethlehem College and Seminary. Malaina was previously a missionary to France and then worked as a college recruiter for several years in Minnesota. We launched Horizon City Church in October 2024. We found out Malaina is pregnant with baby #3 back in November 2024.
I have been dreaming of church planting since my college days—more than 20 years ago—and Malaina has become my biggest supporter. We are currently recruiting a launch team to be part of this church plant. We are hoping to launch in fall 2024.

About My Church Plant
We are seeking to launch a new church in the west Orlando area. Orlando is the #1 most visited city in the world and the third fastest growing city in the USA. The greater Orlando region is the most de-churched urban center in the USA. We lead the nation in percentage of people who have walked away from the Christian faith.
Orlando metro is one of the top 10 most ethnically diverse regions in the country, and Orlando was voted the “most gay friendly” city in America for 10 consecutive years.
Orlando is also quite transient. We’d love to launch a church that makes disciples, and then, as those disciples move to other parts of the country, they will take the gospel with them. We will have a heavy emphasis on teaching and personal evangelism.

NAMB Church Planting
Millions in North America are in desperate need of hope. Ultimately, the only hope that’s going to last - in this life and the next - is the hope of the gospel. North American missionaries build relationships and share this hope in their communities and beyond.
