About My Family

My husband, Bill, and I live in Douglasville, Ga. We have been married for more than 40 wonderful years. I have been a Missions Service Corps missionary with NAMB since 2007. I teach the children and parent classes at our church, Mt. Pisgah Baptist in Austell, Ga. I am also on the executive board for Georgia Baptist Women. Bill is an IT senior field engineer at Delta Airlines and sound engineer and deacon at our church. He also assists with special events through our ministry and church. In our spare time, we enjoy playing with our grandkids or picnicking and hiking at Georgia State Parks.

We have two adult daughters, Lauren Jeffrey and Erin McKey. We have three precious grandchildren, Maci, Liam and Dak McKey.

About My Ministry

I am director of Rising Oak Missions. My focus is apartment house ministry in Cobb County, Ga. My goal is to share Christ with the residents through on-site activities. Each week, I host three Little Acorn Bible Clubs for children 4 years–5th grade with Bible lessons, games, crafts, snacks and Bible memorization. I conduct monthly TeenScenes for students 6th–12th grade with devotions, board games or large group games, junk food and fellowship. I host special events such as “Happy Birthday Jesus” parties, Easter egg hunts, Backyard Bible Clubs, school supply distributions, etc. Many of these students also attend church with my family. I lead on-site Bible studies and parent classes. I also offer transportation to food pantries, church, etc. We do whatever is necessary to take the church to the people and share the GOOD NEWS.

Pray

Please pray for the Bible Clubs, TeenScenes and upcoming Easter events at Silver Creek and Residence Apartments. Please pray that we will have sufficient volunteers and receptive hearts as we minister to the children and teens in these communities. We recently had two children and two adults commit to follow Christ. Please pray that I will be able to disciple them properly, and they will commit to church fellowship. Please pray for Mt. Pisgah Baptist in Austell, Ga., as we attempt to reach our lost, multi-cultural community for Christ. In 2023, I begin to teach parent classes, pray for much spiritual fruit. There is a need for more workers and especially ESL classes. Pray for laborers!

Participate

Bring a missions team to one of our apartments for special events such as a Backyard Bible Club, Easter egg hunt or a block party. If you’re in the Austell area, help disciple new believers or help with a Bible club.
