About My Family

I was born and raised in Washington State but with an Oklahoma twist. I joined the U.S. Marines after high school and started driving trucks in 1984.

I am happily married to the beautiful Miss Bobbie. Looking back, I can see where our Lord had His hand on me from a young age, but I found the ways of the world to be inviting and I wandered away. In 1992, the Lord began to convict my heart, and I started going back to church. One Sunday evening after the service was over, I started to get up to go to the Dairy Queen as usual, but the Lord sat me back down and told me that I wasn’t going anywhere until I got right with Him. I gave my life to Him that night. Over the years, I’ve had some ups and downs, but God showed me that He keeps His promise never to leave or forsake us. He truly is a God of restoration.

About My Ministry

I am an SBC-endorsed corporate chaplain with Truckstop Ministries. Currently, our Lord has opened the door for us to minister at the Pilot Travel Center in Robinson, Texas, I-35 at exit 328. We have chapel service and fellowship meetings on Sunday and offer a ministry of presence during the week. We are meeting in the TV room now and expecting a mobile chapel around the first of April.

Wherever you are in life, Jesus does love you. He went to the cross in your place, died for your sins, and rose again on the third day. Keep your focus on Jesus and don’t look to the left or right. In the words of Charles Stanley, “God has a plan for your life, and you don’t want to miss it!”

SBC Chaplaincy

Chaplaincy is a vital frontline ministry and extension of the local church. Chaplains reach the lost among the thousands of men and women in the U.S. Armed Forces, correctional facilities, healthcare settings, public safety, disaster relief sites, and corporate environments. SBC Chaplains care for the broken, offer hope to the hopeless, and advance the gospel of Jesus Christ in hard-to-reach places.
The qualifications expected of a Southern Baptist applying for endorsement as a chaplain or counselor are established by their institution and the Chaplains Commission, SBC. These qualification requirements vary according to the type of chaplaincy or counseling ministry involved but all are expected to meet a high level of ministerial competence.

Pray

Pray for boldness to share the gospel and open hearts among the drivers, truckstop employees and anyone else the Lord leads us to. Pray that through this ministry, more drivers would come to saving faith and live for Jesus. Pray for stamina and longevity for ministry amidst attacks from the enemy. Pray the He will direct our steps. Pray the Lord will open more doors for ministry in truck stops. Pray for revival in the trucking industry.
