About My Family
I am the middle of three daughters born to a piano teacher and a school principal in South Carolina. I have been ministering to international students for more than 20 years and moved to Greenville County, S.C., to work and minister to students at North Greenville University in Tigerville, S.C., in 2008.
A librarian by training and a lifelong student of languages and cultures by choice, I live near the university with my two cats, Theodore and Abigail. I enjoy sports, gardening, and spending time with friends. My “free” time is usually spent at an athletic match, concert or some other type of event on campus or out of town cheering on my students. If I’m not at one of those or having a meal with a student, you can find me in my garden.

About My Ministry
My ministry is focused on the practical, social and spiritual needs of students. I try to identify and meet as many of these needs as possible. Needs include but aren’t limited to airport rides, providing welcome baskets on arrival, helping with check-in and move-in processes, finding work on campus, applying for social security cards and driver’s licenses, getting cell phone service and making sure they have a place to stay during breaks.
To meet social needs I plan activities like trips to local historic sites, hiking, shopping and hanging out at my home. I engage with students regularly and talk with them about their beliefs. I regularly meet with students one-on-one for meals or in other settings and make a point of asking them how they’re really doing and how I can pray for them and then doing it, if possible, in their presence.
