About My Family
I am Captain Matthew M. Belanger, an SBC-endorsed U.S. Air Force Reserve Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) Chaplain serving with the 432nd Wing at Creech Air Force Base (AFB) and supporting Space Launch Delta 45 and the 920th Rescue Wing at Patrick Space Force Base.
I preach at Patrick Chapel two to three times per month and remain committed to strengthening the spiritual readiness of the men and women who defend our nation. I’m married and the father of four sons. My family is a vital part of my calling and gives me the support needed to serve with conviction, steadiness, and care.

About My Ministry
My ministry is focused on biblical preaching, worship leadership, pastoral counseling, ethical advisement, and religious support for Airmen, Guardians, and their families. At Creech AFB, I support the Remotely Piloted Aircraft community, whose work is critical to Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance and national defense. At Patrick SFB, I preach and support chapel ministry for Space Launch Delta 45 and the 920th Rescue Wing.
I also work full-time for a large technology company specializing in artificial intelligence for the BFSI vertical, Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance. I hold a Master of Divinity and MBA, am completing a Doctor of Ministry at Liberty University, and have begun a Master of Science in Finance at UMass. My ministry blends pastoral care, leadership, readiness, and practical wisdom.

SBC Chaplaincy
Chaplaincy is a vital frontline ministry and extension of the local church. Chaplains reach the lost among the thousands of men and women in the U.S. Armed Forces, correctional facilities, healthcare settings, public safety, disaster relief sites and corporate environments. SBC Chaplains care for the broken, offer hope to the hopeless and advance the gospel of Jesus Christ in hard to reach places.
The qualifications expected of a Southern Baptist applying for endorsement as a chaplain are established by the using agency and the Chaplains Commission, SBC. These qualification requirements vary according to the type of chaplaincy involved but all are expected to meet a high level of ministerial competence.
