About My Family

Matt and Julie are best friends who are committed to making disciples and are passionate about following Jesus. Matt grew up going to church in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, but he never came to know the Lord, and his lifestyle proved that. After graduating from Texas Tech, he moved to the Virgin Islands and became a boat captain. While sailing the Caribbean, he suffered a back injury that kept him in bed for weeks. He began to read the Bible for the first time and God convicted him. Soon after, God saved him the moment he read Romans 5:1. About a year later he left his island and moved back to Dallas/Fort Worth in order to obey God’s call to be in fellowship with other believers.
Julie grew up in Oklahoma City and gave her life to Christ in early childhood. The longer she knew Him the more she loved Him. She became passionate about reading the Bible and making disciples during high school and college. After graduating from the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO), she worked at the UCO Baptist Collegiate Ministry (BCM). Then, she moved to the University of Hawaii to work with international students through the North American Mission Board (NAMB). She left her island and moved to Dallas/Fort Worth to attend Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. During this time and afterward she worked with high school and college students at First Baptist Church Colleyville.
Matt and Julie met on a blind date at a Hawaiian restaurant and got married about a year and a half later. Soon after their wedding they believed God was leading them to the University of Oklahoma to work with college students. After much praying, waiting and trusting, God opened the door for them to come on staff at the OU BCM. In his free time Matt likes to read and Julie likes to drag him outside to play disc golf, paddle board, ride bikes, hike, climb and swim. They also love to host parties, practice hospitality and go on adventures.

That God would increase our faith, allow us to know Him more personally and love Him more deeply. For God to raise up a support team to pray for us and lift up all our needs before Him. That God would provide for all of our needs in His timing, and that He would go before us as we raise support. For God to be at work on the OU campus, and that He will grant us a fruitful, multiplying ministry with the students.

Commit to pray for us regularly (daily, weekly, monthly). Read our newsletter and praying for our needs. Spread the word and recruit others to get informed and pray for us regularly. Partner with us in giving monthly financial support. Contact me for more information about how we can partner.
Many missionaries build a team to join their ministry in prayer, participation, and provision. These friends, family and churches support missionaries beyond the tithes and offerings given within the church plant. Visit for NAMB's policy on providing for church plants.
