As a 501(c)(3) organization, the North American Mission Board respects the intent of givers while retaining discretion over the use of all gifts. Any gifts received above the specific need will be applied where the need is greatest.
About My Family
Ruth and I have been married for 10 years, and God has blessed us beyond measure with three, amazing children: Charlotte, Cora and Judah.
Matt grew up on the east coast of Canada while Ruth was born and raised in Australia. While living in Australia, the Lord placed a burden on their hearts for the people of Newfoundland, Canada. After a season of prayer and discernment, the Lahey family packed up and made the international move back to Canada in pursuit of the Lord’s calling.
It has been a joy watching the Lord work in the lives of our children—and us—as we step out in faith to reach a community that is in desperate need of the gospel.

About My Church Plant
Imagine how you might feel if I told you that less than 1% of the people in a capital city attended a worship service (of any religion) on any given weekend. This might come as a surprise, but this is our reality. Although some form of Christianity has been on the shores of Canada’s most easterly province—Newfoundland—for the better part of 500 years, many people still either don’t know Jesus or have a vague understanding of Him.
With a population of just over 9,000, unemployment nearing 13% and a community steeped in culture, traditionalism, superstition and rituals, Kilbride Community Church (KCC) exists to bring hope to a community that’s shrouded in darkness. This is an area of great social need, but the greatest need is, in fact, spiritual. There hasn’t been a church in Kilbride since 1892.
KCC is a church in a hard place.

NAMB Church Planting
Millions in North America are in desperate need of hope. Ultimately, the only hope that’s going to last - in this life and the next - is the hope of the gospel. North American missionaries build relationships and share this hope in their communities and beyond.
