About My Family

I was born and raised in Kentucky, and my wife grew up in California. We met at Union University in Jackson, Tenn. After college, we got married, and I earned a commission as an officer in the United States Air Force. After serving for eight years, we left the military to join a church staff in Georgia where we served for almost eight years.

During our time in Georgia, we felt God calling us to plant a church in an area of the country that is considered unchurched. Ultimately, God led us to Denver, Colo.

We have four wonderful kids. Our oldest daughter, Quincey, is 8. Our son, Ace, is 5. Our daughter, Bowen, is 4, and we have a newborn girl named Lennon.

About My Church Plant

We are planting in Thornton, Colo., which is a suburb just north of Denver. More than 85% of the people in this area have no religious affiliation at all. It is a great and challenging opportunity to be part of impacting a community. Four families from Georgia joined us in this move to reach this area with the gospel. Our vision is to plant a church where we develop believers to be fully devoted followers of Jesus.

Our desire is to be the church where we live, work and play. That is why we named it Church 8025. 8025 is the number on the front of my house, and every follower of Jesus has a number on the front of his or her house as well. We truly believe it is when we open our doors to our neighbors and coworkers that we are the church.

NAMB Church Planting

Demonstrated Christian character is essential for missionaries and chaplains to gain credibility and build community. A missionary is a person who, in response to God's call and gifting, leaves his or her comfort zone and crosses cultural, geographic or other barriers to proclaim the gospel and live out a Christian witness in obedience to the Great Commission. The North American Mission Board supports missionaries serving across the United States, Canada and their territories. Churches are the missionary incubators and sending centers for missionaries through the Southern Baptist Convention. Missionaries serve in a variety of settings and face tremendous challenges. But the rewards are tremendous and life-changing. Missionaries have the privilege to represent their church and their Father in sharing the gospel as the primary focus of their activity. If you are interested in pursuing next steps as a potential missionary or chaplain from your church, explore the possibilities at namb.net/send-me.

Pray

We pray that God would allow our church to make a lasting impact on the community of Thornton. We pray for more team members to join with us in what God has already begun to do. Pray for the protection of our family and the families who have joined us to plant this church. We are praying to establish our church through the discipling of believers who go and fulfill the Great Commission.

Participate

We would love to host your missions team to help us reach and impact the community. Consider giving one to three years to live on mission in the Denver area and joining our team. Give financially to our ministry to help us continue doing what God has called us to do.
Many missionaries build a team to join their ministry in prayer, participation, and provision. These friends, family and churches support missionaries beyond the tithes and offerings given within the church plant.
