About My Family
I was born and raised in Kansas City, Mo. When it came time for college, I moved to Durango, Colo., and have lived there since. I have worked with many ministries in Durango, including Young Life, youth and college groups at a local church and Climbing for Christ, both domestically and overseas.
Rachel, my wife, grew up in Serbia and Croatia as the daughter of missionaries. When she was 13, her family moved back to the States. She spent the rest of her childhood in Colorado Springs. There she did short-term missions work with orphans in Eastern Europe. Eventually, Rachel came to Durango where she helped a local church’s college ministry and later became involved with Climbing for Christ locally and overseas.
Rachel and I married in summer 2011. We serve together in full-time collegiate ministry.

About My Ministry
We love the college students at Fort Lewis College and share Christ with them. We reach out to international students (mainly Japanese), hippies, Native Americans, athletes, atheists, LGBT and many others. Our focus is on making disciples and disciple-makers. We do our best to help students bump into Jesus. We do that through “familyship,” which is a mix of family and friendship. We want students to know they are loved. That opens the door for sharing the gospel, planting seeds and changing lives.
We also take students overseas for summer mission trips, allowing them to put their faith into action. We go to mostly unreached areas, backpacking into extremely remote mountainous regions that can only be reached on foot. In the past, we’ve worked in the Andes of Peru, the jungles of the Philippines and countries in the Himalayas.
