About My Family

We are the Sokolov family—Oleksandr, Olena, and our daughter, Liza. We came to Canada from Ukraine in 2022 because of the war. I graduated from Zaporizhzhia Bible Seminary and have served in Christian ministry for many years through preaching, evangelism, discipleship, youth, and children’s ministry.

Olena has two higher education degrees and worked as an engineer at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine. She has faithfully served alongside me through Sunday School, children’s evangelism, music, and worship. Our family is thankful to God for calling us to serve Ukrainian people in Kelowna and to share the hope, peace, and love of Jesus Christ with those who have experienced war, displacement, and loss. We are grateful for every opportunity to serve. Please pray that our family remains faithful to God and His calling. Amen.

About My Church Plant

God gave me a deep burden to reach Ukrainians in Kelowna with the gospel and help establish a Ukrainian Bible church. Since coming to Canada, we have built relationships with Ukrainian newcomers and developed regular Bible studies, prayer, fellowship, evangelism, and outreach. Many Ukrainians have experienced war, displacement, loss, and uncertainty.

Our desire is to create a Christ-centered community where people can hear the gospel, study God’s Word, find hope and healing in Jesus, and grow as His disciples. We are developing a Ukrainian Bible church plant in Kelowna and praying that God will raise up faithful believers and leaders who will serve, disciple others, and reach Ukrainian families throughout the Okanagan. We pray this church will become a place where Ukrainians can belong, worship, serve, and share Christ, for God’s glory.

NAMB Church Planting

Millions living in North America have not been reached with the gospel. But a new church makes change possible in an unreached neighborhood.
Send Network church planters immerse themselves in a community, learning the rhythms and culture as they establish relationships with the lost. A church plant grows out of the evangelism efforts of the planter and his core team.
